You may have heard that sustainability is a part of learning at Green Camp. What is sustainability?
Sustainability, involves the capacity to maintain our current resources, with a focus on preserving them for future generations. An example of practicing sustainability includes minimizing food waste.

Here are several strategies to minimize food waste:

  1. Create a shopping list before heading to the grocery store and stick to it!
  2. Purchase only the necessary items; check your pantry and fridge prior to compiling your shopping list.
  3. Utilize the freezer for certain food items that can be stored for later use. For instance, instead of discarding overripe bananas, freeze them for smoothies.
  4. Preserve leftovers and incorporate them into future meals. Consider using them in soups, salads, or stir-fries.

These strategies, of course, require consistent implementation. Let’s contribute to a more environmentally friendly Earth and ensure its sustainability for future generations!
