Raffles PSB: an unforgetable first experience in nature

by carolina - 24th Jan 2012

Last week, 52 kids aged 10 to 12 from Raffles PSB (Jakarta) came for a 3 day camp. At first, it was a little hard for them to drop the mobile phones, but as soon as they got to walk in the rice paddies – and get dirty in them – everything started to feel right. The enthusiasm for mud continued on Day 2 as the whole group embraced Green Camp’s mud pit challenge. Ibu Linda lead her students in the many games and initiatives and proved a formidable adversary!

Students ended up loving this first experience in nature, away from their life in the big city. Being more independent and able to look after themselves in the Balinese rainforest was a huge step for many. Contributing their energy and hard work to helping clean-up the local river on our final day helped connect the group’s efforts to making a difference in the world.

Thanks, Raffles PSB, for opening up to a new experience and allowing yourselves to have such a good time!

We look forward to seeing you next time,

The Green Camp team
